Marketing and Communications works with various departments campus-wide to disseminate timely and relevant information to the Hofstra community using several University communications channels. The team experts utilize strategic communication methods, including planning, mass email sending, and storytelling to enhance the understanding of the University's mission and priorities to its relevant stakeholders.

The Marketing and Communications team is available to assist with strategy, coordination, and messaging around major university announcements, initiatives, and more.

Notable Internal Newsletters

  • Hofstra Campus Message- One-off email sent to Hofstra employees on behalf of departments and individuals at the University. These messages can come from and reply to any @hofstra.edu email inbox.
  • Hofstra Today- Distributed to all Hofstra employees daily. Content typically includes news stories, events, and recent announcements.
  • Hofstra in the News- Sent weekly on Wednesdays to all Hofstra employees. Content typically includes relevant expert and news placements for Hofstra University and its community members.
  • HR Highlights- Sent to all Hofstra employees on the first Monday of every month. FAQ on HOFNEWS Sunset

Effective fall 2024, HOFNEWS will no longer be the method for reaching employees campus-wide via email. Below is some helpful information about internal communications at Hofstra moving forward.

Why has HOFNEWS been removed?

HOFNEWS has been sunset because of the implementation of a new email marketing platform managed by Marketing and Communications. This platform allows for personalized messages from any @hofstra.edu email inbox, and the ability to target your audience based on work department and position type.

What is replacing HOFNEWS?

Hofstra Campus Messages is the new and enhanced way of reaching the Hofstra internal community. See below for notable emails and newsletters you can expect to see.

How can I submit a request for a Hofstra Campus Message?

You can submit a request to Marketing and Communications via HIVE.

Requests should be submitted at least one week before the preferred launch date.

Please note that all submissions are subject to review and suggested edits by Marketing and Communications.
