Through engaging organic original and trending content, photo or video, social media tells the story of Hofstra on a digital media scale. From tapping into our experts for breaking updates, sharing live event coverage and recaps, posting new unique photos of our campus and community, running social campaigns, engaging in trends, and so much more, Hofstra Social Media is your place for timely entertainment and information.

What Social Media Does

  • Covers on and off-campus events for live social posting
  • Produces and creates original and trending content for Instagram, TikTok, Twitter/X, Threads, Facebook, and LinkedIn
  • Contributes to photography of the campus
  • Manages requests for new and existing accounts, account audits, and account cleanup across the University, including academic and student life sectors.
  • Develops and maintains social media policy and best practices
  • Connect and engage with the Hofstra community through comments, questions, and messages through social accounts.
  • Shares real-time updates and University communications to channels
  • Maintain unified brand voice across platforms, geared to each platform’s audience.
  • Please note, all social media requests are considered on a case by case basis, depending on schedule allowances and whether the content, account, campaign, etc. serves the mission of Marketing and Communications.
