Organizational Structure of the Steering Committee and Working Groups
The Self-Study process is led by Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, Gail Simmons and Senior Vice President for Planning and Administration, Pat Adamski. Working Groups were created around each standard, for a total of seven groups. Two co-chairs lead each Working Group, and typically one of those co-chairs is a faculty member. The Working Group co-chairs also serve on the Steering Committee and act as liaisons to the Steering Committee to ensure that appropriate and timely information is shared to facilitate progress and effort on the self-study. In addition to the chairs, other representatives have been included on the Steering Committee to ensure inclusion of the various stakeholders at the University, including students, alumni, and Board of Trustee members. While the key driver in selecting members to serve on each committee was expertise and relevance to the standard, every effort was made to include representation of all of Hofstra's colleges, including a diverse collection of voices, from a wide range of stakeholders.
