Hofstra University's Welcome Week is a week-long schedule of events that is designed to introduce you to the Hofstra campus, the rigor of academic life, our rich culture and traditions, on-campus resources, and the exciting diversity of Hofstra and the community around us. You will have the opportunity to participate in academic, social, athletic and community events. We have planned an exciting week filled with programs and activities that will help you get better acquainted with Hofstra's campus and become an engaged and involved student.

You and thousands of other students who call Hofstra their home can now gain access to campus resources, over 200 student clubs and organizations, and the many social, cultural and career opportunities of the New York metropolitan area.

Note:  The university will be following re-opening protocols as guided by New York State.  This means that many of Welcome Week programs will be virtual and when permitted by regulations, in person and always observing safety guidelines.

Check In

All students living on campus in residence halls should check their Hofstra email regarding the specific dates and time of move-in.

Commuter students will also receive updates through their Hofstra email about the programs during Welcome Week.

Technology Used for Welcome Week

Virtual programming during Welcome Week will use Zoom.  Please make sure you are familiar with using the version of Zoom that authenticates with your Hofstra account. Here is a quick how to tutorial on using Zoom correctly with your Hofstra log in information.

The 2021Welcome Week schedule will be available via the Guidebook App, which is available via the App Store and Google Play Store.

Virtual Class Photo

While we may not be able to gather as a big group on campus for our traditional class photo, we can capture the spirit online. We are looking to get every new undergraduate student to participate in our first every virtual group photo.

You will need to select the "Log in with Google account" option, then sign in using your Hofstra email address example jsmith1[at]pride.hofstra.edu and password.

Select the red button that reads “Record a Response” to begin!

Take a picture of yourself, or a short video (up to 15 seconds) and introduce (name, hometown, major and why you're looking forward to being part of the Pride) yourself to Hofstra University!

The Fine Print: One submission per student. The most creative submission will get a Hofstra sweatshirt and a $25 voucher to the Hofstra Bookstore. (Note: All submissions will be held in moderation for review before being approved and posted)
