The School-Community PsyD program (100 s.h.) is dedicated to training and empowering students to become masterful psychology practitioners in school and community health settings. Our program values and embraces diversity among both students and faculty. Proudly accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) as a doctoral PsyD program in Health Services Psychology with a specialty in School Psychology, and approved by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP), we are committed to providing a comprehensive and well-rounded doctoral education. Increasingly, schools, mental health centers, and other human service agencies form an interdependent community network that can better meet children's needs than the school system in isolation. Therefore, our emphasis is on training psychologists to seamlessly coordinate services between school and community settings, recognizing the interconnectedness of schools with external agencies. By integrating traditional school psychology roles, such as consultation, assessment, counseling, crisis intervention, and developing and implementing prevention programs, with experiences in external agencies such as hospitals, mental health centers, and college counseling centers, our students gain hands-on skills to meet the needs of children and families effectively. Our goal is not just to train but to empower students to excel as school psychologists and drive innovation by bridging the gap between the school system, human service agencies, and the community at large. Join us and become a catalyst for positive change in the lives of children and families.
