University Master Plan
Over the past several years, University administration, faculty and students have partnered with Sasaki and Associates, an International interdisciplinary planning and design firm providing consulting and design services in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Planning, Urban Design, Civil Engineering, and Interior Design, to design a master facilities plan.
The work of the master plan was executed through qualitative and quantitative feedback from all corners of the university community, physical and facility surveys and an in-depth study of best practices of campus planning.
The goal of the master plan is to establish a vision for Hofstra’s physical environment for the next ten years, based on the university’s mission and strategic plan. The master plan is guided by four interrelated principles that speak to the university’s mission and emerging initiatives: identity, innovation, connectivity, and community. The proposed master plan projects enhance the physical campus in support of these principles.
The master plan project was launched in 2015 and the final document is a living plan, with sections that have already been implemented, executed and adjusted.
