Campers who require childcare after 4pm, can remain on campus for Extended Hours for additional charge. Hofstra's Extended Hours Program is designed with the working family in mind. Our extended hours program is structured for parents who wish to have their children remain under the supervision of camp personnel until parents can pick them up later in the day. Activities, games and movies will be available for the children, a snack will be provided for each child. Note: Signing up for this program does not prohibit these children from taking the bus in the morning. It does, however, prohibit them from taking the bus in the afternoon.
Not available on a day-to-day basis.
All children in this program must be picked up by 6 p.m.
The REACH Program provides a safe and positive environment for campers with disabilities to participate in Specialty Camps/Learning Institute activities with their peers. In this inclusion model, they enjoy playing games, completing projects and other peer interactions. Campers in the REACH program may receive visual supports and/or modifications when necessary, under the supervision of the REACH director. Campers in the REACH program may also receive 1:1 support from a capable, hard- working volunteer high school student to help them navigate the camp schedule.
The REACH Program provides a perfect setting for ongoing interventions during the summer break. Campers have ample opportunities to generalize and enhance social and daily living skills.
