Intellectual wellness merges knowledge-building with skill enhancement and fulfilling experiences. It requires the prioritization of academic goals and supportive networks to ensure student success.
Intellectual Wellness Tips
- Be your own advocate. If there is course content or instruction that you need help understanding, reach out to the professor or an academic advisor.
- To expand your community, attend engaging events and participate in club activities. There is a network of support eager to help you. All you have to do is show up!
- Expose yourself to new ideas, people, and beliefs that are different from your own.
- Engage in dialogue, readings and environments that enables critical thinking.
- Keep your brain active, thinking and questioning. Try fun brain teaser activities.
- Be open to different modalities of learning, thinking and studying.
- Find a mentor to guide your experience.
