Presidential Inauguration Celebration Week Symposia
September 27-30, 2021
The aim of the inauguration celebration week symposia organized by the Academic community is to highlight the breadth and depth of Hofstra faculty, staff, students, and alums across the Schools. The sessions cover how education and the university can bridge and build a better and more just world; contextualize and connect the research, teaching and practices that address themes of inclusion, engagement, justice, equity, and innovation. They showcase the collaborations within the university
Interfaith Nutritional Network—Mary Brennan INN
Saturday, September 25th from 10 a.m.-noon

Celebrate Inaugural Week by giving back to the community. ALL members of the Hofstra Community will be able to drop off non-perishable items such as canned meats, packaged pasta, cereal, rice, baby food, peanut butter, canned soup, etc. Drop off donations between Sept. 20th-Sept. 23rd in the Office of Commuting Student Services and Community Outreach (221 Student Center). Donations will be for the Interfaith Nutritional Network and for those who would like to help drop off the donations to the INN, please sign up below. More details to follow!
Welcome to The Pride Prom

As we kick-off inauguration week, anticipate Fall Festival, and welcome our ninth President Susan Poser to Hofstra, all students are invited to dance the night away at Hofstra’s very first Welcome to The Pride Prom. The Prom welcomes all students to enjoy mix & mingle, meet old and new friends and classmates, and enjoy a fun night of food, music, games, and dancing.
Hofstra Pride Community Service: Jones Beach Clean-Up
Sunday, September 26th from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

All members of the Hofstra Community are invited to give back to Long Island by joining our Jones Beach clean-up as part of the inauguration of Hofstra’s ninth President Susan Poser. More details to follow!
Hofstra Pride Community Service: Homework Helpers--SMART Program
Monday, September 27th from 3 - 5 p.m.
Capacity: 30
Members from the Hofstra community will volunteer with 3rd grade students of St. Martin de Porres Marianist School in Uniondale, assisting with reading assignments and playing games with the students in honor of President Poser’s inauguration. Volunteers will need to provide proof of vaccination or a negative covid test in order to enter the school. More details to follow!
Hofstra Community Inauguration Barbecue

Everyone in Hofstra community is invited to join in giving a warm Hofstra welcome to President Susan Poser the inauguration week Community Inauguration Barbeque. Come enjoy a wide variety of foods from Campus Dining and local restaurant from Hempstead and Uniondale.
Roar Rally: A Celebration of Unity, Identity, and Talent
Thursday, September 30, 2021 8 p.m.
Adams Playhouse, South Campus
The Hofstra community is invited to join the Roar Rally as part of the Inauguration Week for Hofstra’s ninth President, Dr. Susan Poser. The rally will showcase a variety of performance styles, groups, and individuals as we celebrate Hofstra students’ unity, identities, and talents. The event will be hosted by Dina Massery '10 and welcome Hofstra student performers, spirit support, and external talent.
