Nathalie Zavala is a 2020 alumna of Hofstra University's Master of Public Health Program. She currently works as a clinical research coordinator for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, where she helps coordinate phase 2 clinical trials in the Division of Endocrinology. Before this role, she was involved in disparities research focused on managing or preventing Type 2 Diabetes among the Hispanic/Latino community in Long Island, Queens, and the Bronx, also serving as a lifestyle coach for the National Diabetes Prevention Program. Nathalie is now aiming to return to school to obtain a BSN to further her career in clinical research. As the president of the new School of Health Sciences Alumni Association, she hopes to create meaningful connections with professionals in the field and provide opportunities for Hofstra’s recent graduates to connect and gain a foothold in their careers. Her goal is to help foster the same welcoming and thriving community she experienced as a graduate student and post-grad.

Christopher Frumusa, MHA, '16 is the School of Health Sciences Alumni Association vice president at Hofstra University. He is also the director of Compliance, Risk, and Regulatory Affairs at the Charles B. Wang Community Health Center (CBWCHC), a federally qualified health center (FQHC) located in New York City. In this role, Chris oversees CBWCHC's Corporate Compliance, Risk Management, and 340B Drug Discount Programs. He also represents CBWCHC as their Public Policy Committee Member and their Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee Member for the New York State Primary Care Association. Prior to joining CBWCHC, Chris worked at both Premier Inc., a national healthcare supply chain organization, and the Greater New York Hospital Association (GNYHA). He firmly believes that everyone should have full and equal access to the highest level of healthcare and his work focuses on supporting affordable healthcare for all. Chris' passion for working in healthcare is attributed to his experiences at Hofstra and what he learned during his time in the Master of Health Administration (MHA) program. He was actively involved in the MHA program and was the project coordinator for the Future Healthcare Leaders (FHL). Before obtaining his MHA, Chris attended New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), where he received a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences. Chris currently lives in Astoria, Queens, with his husband Rob and their 6 year-old rescue dog named Valentina.

Maura Collins is a speech-language pathologist with experience working with children and adults with disabilities and varying medical complexities. She specializes in working with pediatric clients with feeding and swallowing disorders, speech/language delays, tracheostomies, and ventilator-dependence. Maura graduated in 2019 from Hofstra's School of Health Sciences dual-degree BA/MA Program in Speech-Language Pathology. She also serves as an adjunct professor at Hofstra University and has presented at various continuing education conferences.

Marisa Fox holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from Hofstra University. While at Hofstra, she served on the Dean's Leadership Committee, an experience that deepened her commitment to the University community.

In her current role as the events chair for the Hofstra Alumni Association, Marisa is dedicated to fostering connections within the alumni network. She focuses on organizing engaging events that strengthen alumni relationships and support the University’s mission, drawing on her mental health background to guide her efforts. Marisa looks forward to collaborating with fellow board members to create meaningful experiences for Hofstra alumni and to connecting at the next event.
