The Hofstra Center for Career Design & Development is committed to helping employers connect with Hofstra students as easily as possible. Our goal is to effectively meet your recruiting needs, whether you are seeking candidates for internships, full-time entry level opportunities, part-time jobs, or volunteer opportunities. We can also work with you to promote your company on campus.

Posting Jobs and Internships
Hofstra University utilizes an online job posting platform called Handshake. Posting your internship, part-time or full-time job, on Handshake gives your position and company exposure to the entire campus community, including alumni.
In order to get started, create a profile following these instructions:
- Go to Hofstra.joinhandshake.com
- Click on the "Sign up for an Account" link, which is just below the graphic icon in the middle
- Select the "employer" option
- Complete the form that appears
- Check your email address for confirmation and take action on that email
- To log into the system, just return to Hofstra.joinhandshake.com and use the email address and password you used when creating the account. You will then be prompted to enter company information.
Once you have submitted your registration request, a member of the External Relations team will review it for approval within two business days. After receiving registration approval, you can log in and post your positions.
NOTE: We cannot approve employer registrations that contain a personal email address. Positions for law students and attorneys should be posted at the Law Career Services Web Site.
Attending Hofstra Career Fairs
The Center for Career Design and Development offers general and industry-specific career fairs throughout the year. Attending a fair is a great way to meet with a large group of students at one time, and to increase your visibility on campus.
To register for one of our career fairs, log in to your Handshake account at https://app.joinhandshake.com/login. Click “fairs” and put “Hofstra” in the search bar. You will see a listing of all of our current fairs. Click into a fair to see information regarding date, location, pricing and sponsorship.
Instructions for creating an account on Handshake:
- Go to Hofstra.joinhandshake.com
- Click on the “Sign up for an Account” link, which is just below the graphic icon in the middle
- Select the “employer” option
- Complete the form that appears
- Check your email address for a confirmation email and take action on that email
- To log into the system, just return to Hofstra.joinhandshake.com and use the email address and password you used when creating the account. You will then be prompted to enter company information.
Scheduling an On-Campus Interview Day
The Center for Career Design and Development welcomes employers to interview candidates in one of our interview rooms on campus. This makes interviewing for your company convenient for Hofstra students, and gives you the opportunity to spend time on the Hofstra campus.
In order to request a date, you must first have an account on Handshake, and have a position posted.
Once your posting is posted, from your account home page, click “Request an Interview” and follow the instructions below:
- Choose “Hofstra” from the drop down menu and skip to “next”
- Choose your requested date
- Indicate the number of interview rooms that you will need
- Add additional information, if applicable, in the “details” section on this page
- Click “Add Date”
- If you an employer participating in our fall accounting on-campus recruitment program, choose “Accounting Basic Timeline”, otherwise choose “20 Day timeline”
- Choose the interview schedule that meets your needs
- Connect the interview to your existing job posting by selecting the “Use Existing Job” option and selecting the appropriate position.
- Once all information has been reviewed, click “create.”
- Your OCR schedule will be reviewed for approval.
Please note that your requested number of rooms may not be available on your date specified. We will contact you if this is the case.
