In addition to serving as home to many of Hofstra’s Student Affairs offices, the Sondra and David S. Mack Student Center houses the Hofstra Bookstore, which stocks books, school and office supplies, residence hall room furnishings and utilities, toiletries, candy and snacks, magazines, gifts, and Hofstra apparel. Also in the Mack Student Center are several ATMs, a limited-service post office, a theater, multipurpose rooms, meeting rooms, a game room, and a hair/beauty salon.
Students can also take advantage of the David S. Mack Fitness Center on campus, which has a daily class schedule, an indoor run/walk track, and cardio and strength machines.
Hof USA is a great place for students to socialize, dine, and have fun. This dining venue features a continually changing menu and late-night hours.
Cultural life on campus includes the Hofstra Museum, drama, dance, and music performances, clubs and organizations, and athletics events. Our students have more than 500 events to choose from on campus.
The Office of Student Leadership and Engagement
The Office of Student Leadership and Engagement creates intentional cocurricular student experiences. Through our programs, activities, and involvement opportunities, we produce socially conscious, critically minded and globally aware student leaders. Through active and engaged participation in on and off-campus events, activities, and organizations, OSLE empowers students to enhance their educational experience. This is accomplished through immersive programming that includes educational and cultural programs, lectures, conferences, socials, and other interactive opportunities that complement the educational mission of the University.

Center for Career Design & Development
The Center for Career Design & Development is a team of professionals who put students first. We achieve our vision of empowering all Hofstra students toward meaningful careers and lives through one-on-one appointments for career counseling available in person, via Zoom, and telephone anytime the university is open.
Security on Campus
The safety of the Hofstra community and the 244-acre campus is the Department of Public Safety’s highest priority. Through our partnership with students, faculty, and staff, we are able to maintain a campus that is safe and conducive to learning. In addition to maintaining campus safety, Public Safety officers assist students 24 hours a day with a variety of situations, from car problems to room lockouts. They are always on standby for our students. The Public Safety administrative staff and officers are among the best in their field. All Public Safety officers are licensed by the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services.
Public Safety officers receive extensive training in preparation for their role. All officers are New York state-certified first responders and are certified in CPR.
For additional information regarding campus safety at Hofstra, please visit the Department of Public Safety website at hofstra.edu/publicsafety.
Shuttles are available to bring students to local shopping centers as well as our train stations. Visit hofstra.edu/shuttle for more information.
