Mission Statement
Sustainability Studies at Hofstra is the place where students will work to make the world a better place. Focused on local, national, and international sustainability issues, the program will integrate content from various disciplines to solve real-world problems. Students have the opportunity to earn a BA, BS, and the MA in Sustainability Studies at Hofstra University. The program is unique, in that our focus is on community-based sustainability issues within suburban and urban settings. Specific areas of interest include but are not limited to sustainability management and benchmarking, green entrepreneurialism, suburban and urban environments, agriculture, international development, and community development and planning. However, students have the opportunity to develop a unique curriculum based on their own interests with the approval of the advisor.
