We offer comprehensive immigration support to assist international students with F-1 and J-1 immigration statuses. Such services include producing the immigration documents needed to study in the U.S., helping international students understand and maintain their lawful status, advising about travel outside of the U.S., and aiding with authorization paperwork for employment during their studies and after graduation. We also offer open hours for quick questions and appointment times to discuss the complexities of individual immigration situations.
We offer a variety of transition programs and services to aid the international student community and other student populations who grew up outside of the U.S. with their academic, social, and cultural adjustment. One such program is International Student Orientation, which provides new international students with information on immigration, academic requirements, required health insurance, and the numerous other services and resources available at Hofstra.
In addition, we provide programming and advising designed to foster academic and personal success at Hofstra University, and we support cross-cultural understanding and exchange through advising appointments as well as vibrant programs that promote reflection, dialogue, and inspired action. We proudly serve as a liaison and advocate for our international students with United States government agencies, campus constituents, and community organizations.
