Your child is now a college student and still needs you. Diane Herbert, dean of the Center for Academic Excellence, Merry McVey Noble, executive director of Student Counseling Services, and Branka Kristic, director of Parent and Family Programs and assistant dean of students, will lead this interactive on-campus workshop to discuss the developmental milestones your student is going through and examine parenting methods proven effective with young and emerging adults. Dr. McVey Noble will talk about our students’ post-traumatic growth and the building of resilience. Dr. Herbert will share the survey results that reveal how our new students view their strengths as well as the challenges they anticipate having in the first year of college.

MEET PARENT AND FAMILY COUNCIL
Atrium, Mack Student Center, North Campus
Approach their table in the Mack Student Center Atrium by Hofstra Bookstore and get to know the Parent and Family Council members and their initiatives. Sign up to volunteer.
