ORIENTATION AND NEW STUDENT PROGRAMS

Stan is a native of Philadelphia and now a proud Brooklynite. He received a bachelor’s degree in political science and philosophy, and a master’s in higher education administration from Temple University. Before coming to Hofstra, Stan worked at St. Joseph’s University as the assistant director of student activities, and at Temple University’s Student Activities Office as the assistant director. In 2001, Stan joined the Hofstra staff of the Student Activities Office as the assistant director, where he was the advisor to the Student Government Association and the Hofstra yearbook, Nexus. He became the director of Orientation and New Student Programs in 2006 and currently oversees the campus visit program in the office of undergraduate admission and all undergraduate transition programs including New Student Orientation, Winter Orientation, Class Programming and Welcome Week.

Leticia is a lifelong New Yorker who’s excited to join the Hofstra community. She earned her bachelor’s degree in applied psychology from Ithaca College. Her work as a student leader and experiences as a first-generation college student sparked her passion for pursuing a career in education. After Ithaca, Leticia earned her master’s degree in higher education and student affairs from New York University. She spent her graduate experience hosting welcome programs for new students and class-year specific initiatives. Upon graduation from her master’s program, Leticia worked as the Program Coordinator for Orientation and Campus-Wide Programming for Barnard College. Leticia is thrilled to serve as the Assistant Director for Orientation and New Student Programs to engage current student leaders and welcome new students to the Hofstra.

Will is from Long Island, New York and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in public health from the University at Buffalo. He is currently a graduate student in Hofstra University’s Zarb School of Business studying to earn his Master’s in business administration with a concentration in marketing. Will has experience in diverse work environments where he has interacted with people of all backgrounds, and is excited to help create long lasting memories for incoming students. 

Charese Shedrick serves as the Associate Director for Campus Visit in the Office of Undergraduate Admission, where she is responsible for planning and executing in-person and virtual recruitment events, including Open Houses and Admitted Student Days. In this role, she plays a key part in shaping the on-campus experience for prospective students and their families. Charese earned her bachelor’s degree in media and communication from SUNY Old Westbury. With over 10 years of experience in event planning, producing and coordination, she brings exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to excellence to every program she leads. Charese finds her work especially rewarding, taking pride in creating organized, engaging, and memorable campus visit experiences that help students envision themselves as part of the university community.

Alexis Kessler is the Associate Director of Events at Hofstra University, where she oversees the planning and execution of a wide range of campus events that help recruit undergraduate students. With a strong background in management, marketing, and brand engagement, Alexis is passionate about creating meaningful experiences that inspire connection and pride. She earned her bachelor’s degree in management and marketing from SUNY New Paltz in 2022 and is currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing. As an alumna of the Disney College Program, Alexis gained invaluable experience in guest relations, operations, and service excellence—skills she continues to apply in her event leadership and strategic planning. At Hofstra, Alexis combines creativity, organization, and strategic vision to ensure every event reflects Hofstra’s mission and spirit. She is dedicated to delivering exceptional experiences for students, staff, and visitors alike.

Amelia is originally from Princeton, New Jersey and earned her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Manhattan College. She is currently a graduate student in Hofstra University’s Exercise Physiology and Strength and Conditioning program. Through her prior work experience with Next Play Nation and Princeton University, she has developed strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills. As a new member of the Hofstra community, Amelia is eager to collaborate with others to help build strong, effective team dynamics and is excited to be part of creating welcoming and meaningful experiences for new and incoming students.
