Exhibition

This original exhibition features works in the Hofstra University Museum Collections by artists such as Marilyn Bridges, Louis Lozowick, and Andy Warhol, as well as works on loan from private collectors, other museums and artists. The focus of the exhibition is the transformation of Long Island over the decades, brought about by the construction of bridges, tunnels and roadways that provide direct routes to New York City. Issues addressed include the planning and development of suburbia, the long-term impacts on the environment, and contemporary challenges. In addition to works of art, the exhibition includes planning documents and archival photographs on loan from the Special Collections Department of the Hofstra University Libraries.
