Historical Crisis Chair – Hunter Pelecky
Dear Delegates,
I'm excited to meet you all and want to welcome you to the 2021 Hofstra University Model United Nations conference. My name is Hunter Pelecky, and I am l going to be your chair for the Historical Crisis Committee.
I am a sophomore at Hofstra University, and I major in Mathematical Business Economics. Since high school, I have been interested in economics, and I have found MUN to be a great place to explore that interest. A fun fact about myself is I lived in Abu Dhabi since 7th grade and before that lived in Naperville, Illinois. Well, living overseas, I had the opportunity to witness how diverse and connected the whole world is.
This will be my first year participating in HUMUNC. A few conferences I have attended are The Hague International Model United Nations Qatar (THIMUN Qatar), Thessaloniki International Student Model United Nations (ThessISMUN), and the Concordia International School Shanghai Model United Nations (CISSMUN). Lastly, I was the Parliamentarian of my high school MUN, where I organized and managed a two-day Model United Nations conference for over 100 delegates.
I am excited to dive deeper into the world of pirates and cannot wait to see where debate leads us during our time together.

Historical Crisis Director – Charles Timm
Welcome delegates!
My name is Charles Timm and I will be directing your historical crisis committee. I am a junior at Hofstra with majors in history and philosophy, and a minor in political science. I have previously been crisis director for two other committees, and I really hope that this one is as enjoyable as those were.
