Marketing (BBA) and Marketing Research (MS), Dual-degree Program
The
offers combined BBA/MS programs.Qualified undergraduate students can elect to enroll in a dual degree program, combining their BBA with a Master of Science in any major concentration. The dual degree program can be completed in five years.
The BBA/MS program requires the successful completion of at least 149 semester hours, including at least 119 semester hours at the undergraduate level and 30 semester hours at the graduate level, with the exception of BBA core courses and IMS180. Students who are admitted to the MS portion of the dual degree program can substitute up to nine semester hours of undergraduate course work for their bachelor's degree with an equal number of semester hours of graduate-level graduate course work, with the permission of the student's BBA major department chairperson.
Direct admission to the dual degree program (BBA/MS)
Students admitted directly to the dual degree program as incoming freshmen will be admitted automatically to the MS program at the end of their junior year provided that they fulfill the following requirements:
- Achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.2 at the time of application to the MS program or upon completion of 92 semester hours of course work toward their BBA degree, whichever is later.
- Successfully complete the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) before the end of their junior year, or before completion of 92 semester hours of course work, with the following exceptions for MS programs. Business students with overall GPAs of 3.2 or higher applying for admission to the or are not required to take the GMAT. Business students with GPAs of 3.2 or higher seeking admission to dual degree BBA/MS programs other than the or may request a waiver of the GMAT requirement by the chair of the department overseeing the MS major.
- Complete a minimum of 30 semester hours of undergraduate course work in residence at Hofstra.
Admission to the dual degree program for current Hofstra students (BBA/MS)
Interested students should apply for admission into the BBA/MS program no later than at the end of their junior year or before completion of 92 semester hours of course work, and before seeking admission to the graduate program. In order to be eligible for admission to the graduate portion of the dual-degree program, students must fulfill the following admission requirements:
- Achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.2 at the time of application to the MS program or upon completion of 92 semester hours of course work toward their BBA degree, whichever is later.

Undergraduate students must apply and be accepted into a graduate program before being allowed to take graduate courses as part of their undergraduate program. In addition, students must complete the BBA program requirement before being permitted to take more than 9 graduate semester hours for the BBA/MS programs.
