Launch or Grow Your Business with Hofstra's Entrepreneurship Training

Are you ready to start your own business or take your existing venture to new heights? Enroll in Hofstra University's 10-week Entrepreneurship Assistance Center (EAC) Program and gain the skills, knowledge, and support to turn your entrepreneurial dreams into reality.

This comprehensive 60-hour training program covers all aspects of starting and operating a successful business, from ideation and market research to financial management, marketing, sales, and growth strategies. Participants will receive hands-on training, mentorship, and a certificate of completion upon graduating. The program fee is $350. Early bird pricing of $100 off if registered by September 15th. Scholarships available based on eligibility.

Program Highlights

1. Workshops: Over the course of 18 workshops, you will learn how to:

  • Draft your Business Model Canvas and conduct customer discovery.
  • Create a customer profile and conduct a competitive analysis.
  • Use digital marketing techniques, social media, branding, and media strategies.
  • Develop an executive summary and pitch presentation.
  • Improve your sales strategies.
  • Understand different forms of business ownership.
  • Apply for loans, assess credit, and obtain insurance.
  • Create an operating budget.
  • Manage your employees.
  • Develop financial management skills including recordkeeping and financial statements.

2. Mentoring – Receive at least 10 hours of technical assistance from the EAC’s experienced network, including staff, instructors, and experts in banking, loans, insurance, and legal fields. Participants will also join Business Mentor NY.

3. MWBE Certification Assistance – Eligible companies receive counseling and technical assistance on MWBE certification through New York State Empire State Development.

4. Graduation Materials – Participants will complete the program with:

  • Executive Summary
  • Business Model Canvas
  • Pitch Presentation
  • Data from Customer Discovery Interviews
  • Financial Statements
