Art Scholarships for First-Year and Transfer Students
Fine Arts Grants-in-Aid
Grants are available to fine arts majors in recognition of demonstrated ability as well as academic achievement and financial need. Awards require active participation in a program stipulated by the Fine Arts Department. Awards are renewable upon the recommendation of the department chair if student recipients also maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0 and continue to demonstrate financial need.
Requirements
- Students must meet the regular college entrance requirements.
- Students must submit an art portfolio to the Art Department.

Portfolio Requirements
A minimum of 10 works is required. Artworks should be selected from at least three of the following areas: painting, drawing, graphics, photography, design, new media, commercial art, sculpture, ceramics, and crafts. Slides or CDs of three-dimensional works are acceptable.
Judging of the Portfolio
Art faculty will review the portfolios. Portfolios will be judged on quality, originality, creativity, technical competence, and presentation.
