Bio

Terry Mitchell is an adjunct instructor for the Engineering Department at Hofstra University. He teaches Risk Management for Engineers as part of the Engineering Management master's degree program. He received his B.E. degree in electrical engineering from Pratt Institute. He received his M.S degree in Technical Project Management from Long Island University at the C.W. Post campus. He was the recipient of the Collins Williams Memorial Scholarship. In addition to working as a Post Graduate Researcher at the U.C. Davis School of Medicine performing NIH funded research, he has been an Electrical Engineer, Network Engineer, and Project Manager. He is a Senior Project Manager at Northwell Health where he has been employed for the past 11 years. He has been a long-time member of Project Management Institute and the Board of Directors for Project Management Institute Long Island Chapter. In addition to his present role as VP of Outreach, he has taught Risk, Scope, Quality, Time & Communications as part of the PMI Project Management Professional certification preparation. He has guest lectured for more than a decade at long Island colleges & Universities. In addition to his academic degrees, he holds professional certifications from Project Management Institute, Health Information Management System Society, Scrum Alliance and Scaled Agile Inc. He is currently developing methods and techniques to teach Agile Project Management using A.I.
