Bio
Dr. Mackler serves as supervisor to students as they complete practicum and internship experiences throughout the progression of the Psy.D. program. In addition, she is an Adjunct Assistant Professor who will teach students what they need to know in a very practical sense in their school placements. Dr. Mackler is a certified school psychologist as well as a NYS licensed psychologist. She has worked for 35 years in public schools, with a great deal of experience with nonpublic schools as well. Dr. Mackler holds an administrative certificate, which has afforded her the opportunity to serve as director of an afterschool program for students on the spectrum to interact with typically developing peers for many years. She is an advocate for Mental Wellness and Social-Emotional Learning, which integrates well into the current climate in the schools which are struggling to manage the trauma associated with the health pandemic.
