Bio
Dr. Nicole Eide is a speech-language pathologist, who has focused her career on children and diversity across a range of ages and populations. Dr. Eide holds two master's degrees: the first in Educating Students who are Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing from CUNY Hunter College and the second in Communication and Language Disorders from Longwood University in Virginia. Dr. Eide completed her Ed.D. at Hofstra University in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy.
Dr. Eide holds multiple teaching licenses including Teaching Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD), Educating Students who are Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing, Middle Childhood Education Grades 1-6 with a Bilingual Extension.
Dr. Eide works with children and young adults with Autism as an evaluator, and providing treatment to children with severe and complex communication disorders that include challenges in the areas of attention span, memory, organization, and self-regulation of emotions and behaviors.
Dr. Eide is a member of the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association (ASHA), New York Speech Language and Hearing Association (NYSSLHA), Long Island Speech, Language and Hearing Association (LISHA) and serves as a New York State Graduate Instructor for teachers.
Dr. Eide has written for the Journal of the National Black Association for Speech Language and Hearing aimed at empowering and engaging young minorities in the field of Speech-Language Pathology. Dr. Eide is passionate about embracing the diversity of people from different cultures, languages, geographic areas, socioeconomic backgrounds, and levels of ability to create opportunities for all with whom she works to have a strong start to life and reach their full potential. Dr. Eide's research has resulted in the development of a framework to guide culturally responsive practice when supporting culturally and linguistically diverse children with communication needs.
Dr. Eide enjoys teaching and mentoring students in undergraduate and graduate courses.
