Bio
Irene Taub is a seasoned communications professional with over 20 years of public relations experience. Professor Taub began her career at Ryan & Ryan Public Relations, Inc. in 2000 and spent over 16 years implementing PR initiatives and handling media relations for the firms largest client, Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group. As assistant vice president, Irene managed national programs at 15 properties in Simons Northeast portfolio and oversaw daily PR activities for seven properties in New York, New Jersey and Delaware. Her vast experience ranges from proactively seeking publicity and securing media coverage to conducting spokesperson training and crisis management.
Professor Taub received both her bachelor of fine arts and a master's degree in communication arts from New York Institute of Technology, where she graduated with distinction. In 2017, she returned to the classroom as an adjunct professor, first at Nassau Community College in its Retailing and Marketing Department, and currently teaches both graduate and undergraduate courses for the Department of Journalism, Media Studies, and Public Relations at Hofstra University. Professor Taub also serves as a faculty internship sponsor for undergraduate PR students at Hofstra University. On occasion, she handles freelance PR projects for small businesses and has volunteered her time on the production crew for WLIW Channel 21 public television's fund drives. Professor Taub has also served as a team campaign manager for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Societys Women of the Year fundraising initiative.
