Dr. Fornari received her doctoral degree from Columbia University, Teachers College in Higher Education, College Teaching and Academic Leadership.
Dr. Fornari focuses on faculty development for the Hofstra North Shore LIJ School of Medicine community of faculty, all professionals who interact with medical students and residents/fellows. As an Associate Dean, she is an active member of the core team planning the curriculum and aligning assessment with learning. Through her combined role she assures faculty are skilled to engage with the learners and deliver an innovative medical education curriculum.
At the SOM she co-directs the Interpersonal and Communications Curriculum, which is a thematic integrated curriculum delivered longitudinally over 4 years of medical school. Her other focus is bridging reflective practice initiatives for the SOM and Health System to assure the core value of reflection is prominent across the continuum of medical education: UME,GME and CME and crosses interprofessional education and practice.
