Bio

Dr. Lisa M. Dresner is the author of The Female Investigator in Literature, Film, and Popular Culture (McFarland, 2007), articles about the rhetoric of popular culture and about writing pedagogy, and introductions to several gothic novels. She regularly teaches WSC 102 (Grammar for Writers) and WSC 103 (Words and Meanings) as well as other courses in the Writing Studies and Rhetoric Department. She also enjoys teaching in the NOAH Program, the LGBTQ+ Studies Program, the Women's Studies Program, and the English Department. She is currently head of the LGBTQ+ Studies Program. In the fall of 2021, she represented Hofstra in the first Jeopardy! Professors Tournament.
