Bio
Alex Cutler is a seasoned teacher, film producer and media professional. He began his media career at Republic Pictures, responsible for business and legal matters relating to an extensive motion picture and television library (including Bonanza, Get Smart, It’s A Wonderful Life, High Noon and The QuietMan) while attending UCLA’s MFA producer program and Southwestern Law School. After relocating to Sydney, Australia, Cutler worked for the Grundy Organization and Hoyts Theatres, where he was involved in many of their film and television productions, including Sale of the Century, Neighbours, Prisoner, and Colleen McCullough’s An Indecent Obsession. His own Australian producing career culminated with the Warner Bros-released The Delinquents, partnered with David Bowie and starring Kylie Minogue in her feature film debut. Upon returning to the U.S. he pursued a long-deferred desire to teach and became a distinguished educator, school administrator and charter school developer. In 2011, Cutler returned to film primarily, as a producer of Henry Barrial's award-winning feature PIG; Bryan Singer's The Taking of Deborah Logan; Outlaws and Angels with Luke Wilson, Chad Michael Murray, Teri Polo and Francesca Eastwood (premiered at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival); The Vault starring James Franco, Taryn Manning, Francesca Eastwood, Clifton Collins, Jr. and Q'orianka Kilcher; and Untogether, starring Jamie Dornan, Ben Mendelsohn, Billy Crystal, Jemima Kirke, Lola Kirke, Alice Eve and Jennifer Grey. Cutler’s other recent producing credits include London Town, Life at These Speeds and Don Peyote.
