Bio
Emanuel Boussios lectures in the Criminology Program at Hofstra University. He has been honored with the Chancellor's Award for teaching excellence, the ACJS/Sage Faculty Professional Development Teaching Award, and was a three-time recipient of the AKD International Sociology Honor Society Fellowship Award. Currently, he is authoring a book on surveillance with Rowman and Littlefield Publishers. He has published more than a dozen articles in peer-reviewed journals. His research has been supported by fellowships from the Summer Institute in Survey Research Techniques at the University of Michigan Survey Research Center and the Burns "Bud" Roper AAPOR, as well as grants from SUNY, Hofstra University, and the Hayek Fund. He has served as a Visiting Research Scholar at New York University and the Saltzman Institute of War and Peace Studies at Columbia University. With over a decade of experience in law enforcement in Suffolk County, NY, he is a certified NYS Police Academy instructor. He earned his Ph.D. in Sociology with a focus on War, Terrorism, and Crime from Stony Brook University, and also holds an M.S. in Sociology, an M.S. in Management and Policy (now an MBA program), an M.S. in Technology Systems Management, and an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Operations Systems Management, all from Stony Brook University.

Surveillance, Ethics in Policing, and Criminology
Research Interests
Surveillance and privacy laws, quantum computing, and the analysis of American attitudes towards terrorism.
