WILLIAM P. SCHAEFER, adjunct professor, received his B.A. from George Washington University and his M.A. from Rutgers University. His J.D. was earned at American University?s Washington College of Law. Mr. Schaefer has clerked for a federal judge, worked as an assistant district attorney in Suffolk County, and prosecuted criminal cases as a trial attorney in the Organized Crime and Racketeering Section of the U.S. Justice Department. For more than a decade, he served as an assistant U.S. attorney with the Organized Crime Strike Force in northern California. Mr. Schaefer has a strong interest in all aspects of American politics, with a particular emphasis on the politics and history of American criminal justice.
