Bio

Marìa-Teresa Carandell-Sarabia grew up in Barcelona of Catalan parents. As a young girl, she was sent to England, Germany, and France to study because it was her father's wish that his children experience and understand other cultures. She married a physician and came to the United States. Here, she earned her BA, her Phi Beta Kapa key, her MA from Queens college, and 27 credits in Comparative Literature beyond her Master's from NYU and Hofstra University. She has taught Spanish at the University level since 1975 and has just received a certificate for having taught 30 years at Hofstra.
