Mail Center

Housed in Butler Annex on South Campus, the Mail Center provides delivery and pickup service for thousands of incoming, outgoing, and interoffice mail pieces for administrators, faculty, and staff.  As the University’s liaison with the U.S. Postal Service, the Mail Center assists with First Class, Certified, Express, Insured, Priority, and Registered Mail.

The Butler Annex mailroom is open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday from September to May.  (Friday, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. in the summer months)

The mailroom only processes mail and packages for administrators, faculty, and staff. Student mail is usually processed through the Barnes & Noble Bookstore mailroom on North Campus. Additional information can be found at: hofstra.edu/residence-life/mail.html

Learn about our new Create to Ship Package Shipping System

Hofstra’s Web-Based Package Shipping System – Create to Ship (CTS Web on the Hofstra Portal)

Print and Mail Services uses a web-based shipping system called Create to Ship. (It is found using the icon CTS Web on the Hofstra portal.) This web-based application allows users to create barcoded package slips (affixed to your packages) in lieu of handwritten addresses, directly from your desktop. We scan the barcode into our system (uploading the address, account code to be charged, and delivery requirements) to obtain the most favorable rates for your shipment.

FedEx

In addition, package shippers are encouraged to sign up for a FedEx Shipping Administration account (a separate web-based service) that allows you to ship letters and parcels directly from your desktop. You can email mailcenter@hofstra.edu for additional information.
