About Us

MaryBeth began working at Hofstra part-time in Academic Records. In 2007, she transferred to the Center for Career Design & Development full-time, where she serves as Senior Assistant. MaryBeth says she loves her job because of the daily interaction she has with coworkers, students and employers. With the support of her husband and 3 children, she recently graduated from the Zarb School of Business with a BBA in Management.

Sandra Buatti-Ramos is a Certified Life Mapping Coach (CLMC), Academy Certified Resume Writer (ACRW), and career coach. She provides holistic guidance and support to clients throughout their career development and career management endeavors and employs an integrated approach to coaching. She has extensive experience supporting students in engineering, computer science, business, policy, non-profit, and government sectors. Sandra is the 2021 CSPA-NYS Innovation & Research Award recipient and a recipient of the CSPA-NYS Champion of Diversity award. Her research has been published in the journal of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), and she is a NACE Blog contributor. Sandra currently serves on the LICSPA EDI committee and the NACE LGBTQ+ affinity group, and she previously served on the NACE DEI committee. Sandra is currently pursuing a doctor of education from the University of North Dakota and earned a master of arts degree in higher education administration from Stony Brook University, a master of arts degree in communication from the University at Albany, and a bachelor of science degree in communication studies from SUNY Oneonta. Sandra's prior industry experience includes roles in finance, political communications, and state government.
