About Us

I started my career at Hofstra in 1987 as the Assistant Director of Sports Facilities primarily responsible for the Swim Center operations. Within 15 months I became the Director of Campus Recreation and have served in this position since! I have been fortunate to be in my chosen field doing what I absolutely love at such an amazing institution. When I first started in rec, my office was in the PFC (now known as the PEB) and shared with Athletics and Physical Education. Recreation on campus was extremely limited at that time. A year later, plans to build a recreation building on campus came to life, which I had involvement in creating, and my own personal dream came true!

The Recreation Center (now known as the Fitness Center following a huge renovation in 2011) has been flourishing ever since. It has become a showcase facility on campus that I am beyond proud to show off and manage. The Fitness Center is designed primarily to be a student destination, but I certainly welcome and encourage all members of the campus community to utilize it because everyone deserves to be healthy.

Throughout my life I have always been athletic and still continue my daily workouts because it’s so important to me. The value of being fit is something I love to teach, preach, and help motivate others to live. I want to help all people – our University community, attain a healthy lifestyle because as I’ve always believed, people would be so much happier if they felt good. My job at Hofstra allows me that opportunity to educate others, and for that I will be forever grateful.

I have a Master’s of Education degree from Bowling Green State University in Ohio in Athletic Administration with a specialization in Facility Management. I’ve lived in Queens all my life, love my family and friends, enjoy having fun and causing just a little trouble from time to time!

Colin attended SUNY Oswego where he received his B.S. in Business Administration.  He also obtained his M.S. in Sport and Fitness Administration from Winthrop University where he was a graduate assistant for sport programs.  Prior to joining the Hofstra Campus Recreation Staff, Colin served as the Coordinator for Sport Programs at Appalachian State University and spent over a year as the interim Facility Coordinator.  Born and raised on Long Island Colin is excited to be back and for his new role and opportunity at Hofstra.  In his free time, he enjoys watching sports, reading a good book, staying active, and spending time with family and friends.

I joined the Department of Campus Recreation in August 2024 after spending the previous years working in the University’s Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences Department.

As the Senior Assistant, my main responsibility is providing budgetary guidance for all the University's sport clubs with purchases, travel, and reimbursements. I enjoy working with Hofstra students they make this place special. In addition, I assist all the senior staff with the day-to-day operations of the Fitness Center.

I live in Westbury with my cat Simba. I have a son Darwin, 30, and a daughter Genesis, 29. I also have a grand-doggy Peanut the Corgi.  We are avid Mets and Arsenal fans. I’m Kate and Willie’s #1 fan, our Hofstra mascots.

I have a BBA and MBA from Hofstra University.

I spent the last 24 years in public education serving as a music educator, building administrator, and athletic director in the state of New York and Ohio. Additionally, I have extensive experience serving as a high school and college baseball and basketball sports official.

I am an Ohio native and graduate of The Ohio State University and University of Dayton, holding degrees in music education and educational leadership. Furthermore, I am classically trained as a trumpet performer while also licensed as a personal trainer, educator, and school building leader.

My wife Catherine and I live on Long Island. Moreover, I am a proud father of three daughters Alaina, Grace, and Claire who range from middle school age through college graduate.

My passions include staying fit, leading a healthy lifestyle, attending college and professional sporting events, and traveling domestically and abroad.

I graduated from Hofstra University in May of 2023 with a Bachelors in Business Administration degree in Marketing. While I was an undergraduate, I was heavily involved with the Men’s Rugby Team. I also worked at the front desk of the Fitness Center and was a Resident Assistant in Constitution Hall for a year as well.

My passion for Recreation and Athletics came from a young age, as I was always active and playing all sports. Staying healthy and getting exercise is super beneficial for everyone and I wish to further emphasize this to the Hofstra community as I take on my role as Assistant Director with Campus Recreation!

Some of my hobbies include working out at the Fitness Center, hanging out with friends, playing pickleball, watching the Jets, real estate and just relaxing and enjoying a nice walk on campus!
