Hofstra's proximity to New York City means that students in the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures have numerous opportunities to expand upon their core undergraduate education by interning within the professional workforce or participating in professional level activities.
Majors in French, Italian, or Spanish may secure internships through Hofstra's Center for Career Design and Development. An HCLAS liaison from the Center for Career Design and Development will provide guidance and leads on how to obtain an internship that fulfills degree requirements. With the help of the chair of the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures, students who have secured an internship designate a faculty sponsor, who will direct a research paper related to some aspect of the student's work.
For more information on the Center for Career Design and Development, call 516-463-6060 or email HCLAS liaison, Sabeen Sheikh.
