Note: Allergy Alerts - Campers with allergies to dander or fur should not enroll in this camp. Campers with oral or airborne peanut, treenut or pine nut allergies should not enroll in any Animal Care Programs.
Careers in Animal Care - Domestic Animals

Take your love for companion animals to the next level. Explore many exciting career paths, develop practical handling skills, and increase your knowledge of basic grooming, diseases, animal welfare and behavior. Typical instructional activities include hands-on experiences with cats, dogs, hamsters and birds.

Careers in Animal Care - Exotic Animals

It's fun, furry feathery, creepy, crawly and definitely scaly! The campers will learn about exotic animals; their habitat, diet and enrichment necessary for the wellbeing of the animals as well as disease prevention, handling and lots of loving! We also explore and learn about the environment which affects animals and humans alike.


Schedule: This is a full day program in Animal Care, which will take place at Nassau BOCES Joseph M. Barry Career & Technical Education Center. All classes take place at the Nassau BOCES Barry Tech campus between 10am-3pm. If you opt to use Hofstra Summer Camps transportation camp times will vary.
