A Medication Request Form must be filled out by your child's physician, and must either be sent into the camp office ahead of time or accompany the medication being dropped off.

Medication must be in the original container, including the label with your campers name, dosage, and the prescriber's name.

Facilities

Hofstra Summer Camps provides campers with an unparalleled summer experience. Campers are immersed in their program of choice through hands-on learning in any of our incredible facilities, on or off campus. This provides campers with:

  • Experiential learning
  • An opportunity to learn and play alongside Hofstra's students and Division 1 athletics, coaches, and professors.

Facilities for Hofstra Day Camps

Hofstra Day Camps are held in the same classrooms, labs, studios, recreational fields, and other facilities that are utilized by Hofstra students.



Recreation FIelds
During the summer, Hofstra's recreation fields become bustling hubs of activity. Campers engage in a variety of organized sports and games like soccer, kickball, capture the flag, and gaga. The fields are often divided into zones for different activities, with kids running, laughing, and working together in teams.

Hofstra's recreation fields are also used for many of our special events such as Carnival, Slip & Slide Day, and Blue & Gold Day. Overall, the recreation fields serve as the heart of summer camp, filled with energy, laughter, and memories in the making.

Modern Classrooms
Classrooms with traditional, theater style, or laboratory seating with collaborative spaces for groupwork, and state of the art technologies. These spaces are designed to enhance learning and hands-on activities across various fields, from STEM to the arts. There are specialized rooms equipped for computer coding, robotics, 3D printing, science, engineering, and media production.

Hofstra Swim Center
Hofstra's indoor Olympic-sized pool includes four diving boards, an underwater dive-tank observation window, two movable bulkheads that can divide the pool for separate activities, and locker rooms with showers, bleachers, and accessibility for campers with disabilities.

Tennis Courts
The Tennis Courts consists of nine courts, which were recently refurbished, enabling the Pride to conduct multiples flights at one time. In addition to their use by Hofstra's men's and women's tennis teams, the Hofstra Tennis Courts also are home to high school championship events.

Adventure Education Course
Our Adventure Education course includes 9 high elements, including 3 new ones: Space Loops, Islands, and Multivines. While you complete these 30 foot tasks, you will be hooked into a harnessed and belayed (supported) by one of our skilled staff members!

Facilities for Sports Academy Camps

Hofstra Sports Academy Camps are held on the same playing fields used by the Hofstra University athletes and teams.



David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex
The 5,023 seat Hofstra Arena is air conditioned and hosts multiple basketball courts, flexible spaces and concession stands.

Hofstra Physical Education Building
The 4000-square-foot building is air conditioned and its 800 seat Arena is used for group gatherings, rainy day activities, Dance Studio, Wrestling Gym, Volleyball Courts, and Basketball courts.

James M. Shuart Stadium
The 13,000-seat James M. Shuart Stadium is home to the Pride Football, Men's and Women's Lacrosse, and Women's Field Hockey programs. It contains a FieldTurf system, which replicates a natural grass surface, but offers the durability and cost benefits of synthetic fields. FieldTurf is a safe alternative, resulting in a documented reduction of sports injuries. The sand and rubber infill system is the biggest technical development that the sport surfacing industry has seen in the last 25 years. This patented technology sets FieldTurf apart from all other sports surfaces. James M. Shuart Stadium is also the largest outdoor sports and entertainment complex on Long Island.

University Field
The Pride Men's Baseball program calls University Field, located on Hofstra's North Campus, their home. It contains “Competition Turf,” an artificial grass surface, which gives the Pride greater flexibility in playing during inclement weather and will also allow for greater use during the summer months.  There is a new scoreboard in right centerfield and the sunken dugouts measure 70 feet in length, with protective fencing. The outfield warning track has bee resurfaced with crushed gravel for better playability and drainage. University Field has dimensions of 331 feet down the left field line, 380 to center field and 340 down the right field line.

Captains Soccer Field
The Hofstra Men’s and Women’s Soccer Teams play at the Hofstra University Captains Soccer Field. Captains Field features a 120-yard by 74-yard FieldTurf surface, stadium lighting, and metal bleachers the length of the field. The FieldTurf system replicates a natural grass surface, but offers the durability and cost benefits of synthetic fields. FieldTurf is a safe alternative, resulting in a documented reduction of sports injuries. The sand and rubber infill system is the biggest technical development that the sport surfacing industry has seen in the last 25 years. The soccer facility has seating for approximately 1,600 spectators.

Bill Edwards Softball Stadium
The Hofstra University Pride play and practice at the Hofstra Softball Stadium. Construction included new sunken dugouts, new outfield sod, a press box on top of the bleachers behind home plate, batting cages next to the dugouts and a bullpen area. Bleacher seating behind home plate, from dugout to dugout, accommodates nearly 1,000 spectators. Field dimensions are 190 feet down the lines and 220 feet to centerfield.

Cindy Lewis Field Hockey Stadium
Cindy Lewis Stadium, which was renamed on September 1, 2025, in honor of the longtime Hofstra administrator who passed away in 2023, includes bleacher seating, a press box a FiedTurf Hockey Gold playing surface. The original stadium Sportexe® HockeyGrass™ Club turf was replaced with FieldTurf Hockey Gold. FieldTurf's Hockey Gold product is a revolutionary turf system – designed specifically for the highest levels of field hockey play. It is the industry's premier field hockey offering.

Teague Ryan Wrestling Complex
The renovated home of Pride Wrestling featurs a new wrestling floor and wall mats, a new cardio room, a student-athlete lounge, a sports medicine room equipped with state-of-the-art technology, and a refurbished coaches office suite.

Facilities for Nassau BOCES Programs

Nassau BOCES provides a range of educational services and specialized facilities. These facilities are designed to serve a diverse student population, including career and technical education for students. All camps take place in BOCES facilities and hands-on training in various career fields, including automotive technology, culinary arts, construction, and more.

Nassau BOCES Barry Tech is an extensive center complete with a variety of career and technical educational spaces including an automotive garage, carpentry shop, veterinary center, and culinary arts academy.

Long Island High School for the Arts (LIHSA)
LIHSA spans across three buildings on site and hosts a total of four dance studios, a 350 seat theater with lighting and sound equipment, two smaller black box theaters, an audio-recording studio, numerous classroom spaces, practice rooms, art studios, film editing room, dark room, digital music space and a carpentry shop for scenic design.

Brookville Environmental Center
Centrally located in Nassau County, this former NIKE Missile Base provides a remote setting for a variety of Nassau BOCES programs. This outdoor classroom is comprised of 20 acres and provides visitors with the opportunity to enjoy our adventure education, homestead ecology, and ecology @ Brookville programs.

Nassau BOCES Caumsett Outdoor and Environmental Education Center
The site of the Nassau BOCES Environmental Center located at Caumsett State Park. The parks 1600 acres encompass a unique combination of diverse natural habitats and is home to many of the Outdoor and Environmental Education programs. This outdoor classroom is made up of fields, forests, pond, salt marsh and seashore. Our creative indoor teaching space includes a Span Wall, WiFi, and digital scopes to help further your students' environmental based education.
