Information Session and Campus Tour

Meet an admission counselor, learn more about the admission process at Hofstra, and take a guided tour of campus led by one of our Hofstra Pride Guides.

For the month of May, tours are being offered Monday-Friday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.

For all tours after May, tours are being offered Monday- Friday at 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m, and 1:30 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., and 1 p.m.

Join us for our Academic Spotlight series! Our Academic Spotlight Tours have your academic interest in mind. To find out which school houses your intended major, please visit hofstra.edu/areasofstudy. Students interested in pursuing premedical studies as biology majors should attend the Sciences Academic Tours on July 10 or August 4, 2025.

Virtual Experiences

Experience Hofstra from anywhere in the world.

Visit Hofstra from wherever you are in the world! Your visit will begin with a virtual information session and an introduction to academic life at Hofstra. Next, you'll take a virtual campus tour with one of our Pride Guides (student tour guides). During the virtual tour, you will have the opportunity to experience Hofstra’s Student Center, a residence hall, and many of the academic facilities available to undergraduate students. Combined, this visit will help you discover if Hofstra is a place you can call home.

Hofstra University offers a student the option to decide for themselves how to present their academic strengths, talents and abilities to the admission committee. Join us to learn about our standardized testing policy, and find out if applying test optional is right for you.

Admission Workshop: How to Write Your College Essay
Not sure what your college essay should be about? Having trouble getting started? Join us to learn how to compose a compelling college essay and hear from Hofstra University admission counselors.

Admission Workshop: Why Hofstra? Admission, Financial Aid and Return on Investment
Join us virtually to learn why Hofstra should be on your college list. In this session you will hear from members of the admission team and get your questions answered about admission, financial aid, return on investment and what to expect from the Hofstra experience.

Admission Workshop: Financial Aid 101
Join Hofstra for "Financial Aid 101," an informative workshop designed to inform you about funding your college education! In this session, you'll hear from representatives from the Office of Undergraduate Admission about scholarships and financial aid.

Admission Workshop: How to Apply to Hofstra
Learn everything you need to know about applying for admission to Hofstra University. We will discuss items such as Early Action admission, test scores, college essays and more. Join us to get answers to all of your questions and hear from members of the admission team.

Auditions

The Hofstra Cheerleading program is a nationally recognized co-ed squad. The squad promotes school spirit for the University's athletic teams, such as the men's and women's basketball teams. Cheer performances are also requested at University festivals and admission events. See when tryouts will be held.

An audition is required for the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Dance. Additionally, students pursuing a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Dance will audition for placement in technique classes, and to determine Activity Grant awards. Get more information.

The Hofstra University Dance Team is an exciting and competitive collegiate dance team that performs at University athletic events as well as other events held on and off campus. See when tryouts will be held.

A portfolio review is required for students interested in the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Production. Additionally, students interesting in pursuing a BFA in Performance or Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Theater Arts will audition to determine initial offerings of Activity Grants to first-year students. Get more information.
