Dr. Robert I. Gluck

Associate Professor of Graduate Nursing

Robert I. Gluck, MD is Associate Professor of Graduate Nursing at Hofstra Northwell School of Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies. Before joining the faculty, he served in the Northwell Health system as a Hand and Upper Extremity/Microsurgeon, including as Chief of Service at Long Island Jewish Hospital, and later in private practice. He has been honored with multiple Top Doctor awards for his clinical work.

At Hofstra, Dr. Gluck has helped create and support a range of collaborative initiatives and events, with a particular focus on lifestyle medicine and the determinants of health within a broad, multidisciplinary view of healthcare. He teaches widely across undergraduate and graduate programs, has been recognized as Teacher of the Year, and especially enjoys leading his Honors College seminar, Perspectives on Healthcare.

Beyond the university, Dr. Gluck is active in community service initiatives both on and off campus, and in patient advocacy. Away from teaching, medicine, and podcasting, he finds joy in athletic activities and through his synagogue, and is supported and inspired by his wife, children, and pets. He’s particularly excited to team up with Dr. Kareem Nugdalla as co-host of Nurse to Health, where together they dive into the real stories and experiences that shape healthcare today.

Dr. Kareem Nugdella

Assistant Professor of Graduate Nursing

Hofstra Northwell School of Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies

Kareem Nugdalla, DNP, AGACNP-BC, RN-BC is a Cardiology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner at South Shore University Hospital and Assistant Professor of Graduate Nursing at the Hofstra Northwell School of Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies. His clinical work centers on acute and advanced cardiovascular care for hospitalized adults, with a particular focus on complex consultative cardiology and advanced heart failure.

At Hofstra, Dr. Nugdalla is the architect and director of the PEARLS curriculum for graduate nursing, a case-based, problem-based, small-group pedagogy that integrates pathophysiology, pharmacology, and advanced health assessment into a cohesive, clinically grounded learning experience. He teaches widely across programs and is known for his emphasis on clinical reasoning, accountability, and real-world decision making at the bedside.

Beyond the classroom and hospital, Dr. Nugdalla is active in community advocacy and civic leadership in Coram, New York, with a focus on health, infrastructure, and equitable access to essential services. He is especially excited to co-host Nurse to Health with Dr. Robert Gluck MD, where together they explore the stories, systems, and lived experiences that define healthcare today from both nursing and medical perspectives.
