**The Hofstra University Museum will be closed for Thanksgiving recess from Wednesday, November 25 to Monday, November 30, 2009.**

The Emily Lowe Gallery will be closed for installation from December 19, 2009 through February 1, 2010.

The David Filderman Gallery will be closed for installation from December 7, 2009 through January 3, 2010.

By automobile: the Hofstra University Museum can be reached easily by main east-west and north-south roads. Of the parkways, Meadowbrook Parkway is the closest; it runs north and south between the Southern State Parkway and Northern State Parkway. Leave Meadowbrook Parkway at exit M4 West (Coliseum, Hempstead Turnpike West). Continue on Hempstead Turnpike for four traffic lights. Make a U-turn at the fourth light and then take the next right into the University parking lot. Continue to the stop sign. The Emily Lowe Gallery of the Hofstra University Museum will be on your left. There are 3 visitor spaces directly in front of the Lowe Gallery.

By train: Take the Long Island Railroad (LIRR) from Penn Station to Hempstead (last stop on that line). Take taxi to Emily Lowe Gallery, Hofstra University Museum, Hofstra University. The Hofstra Courtesy Bus meets most trains and can drop you at the campus. Click here to view the Courtesy Bus Schedule. 

RECOMMENDED PARKING:

Weekend
Saturday and Sunday parking is available on South Campus immediately outside of the Hofstra University Museum's Emily Lowe Gallery.

Weekday
Weekdays, when classes are in session, parking on the south side of campus may be difficult. Hofstra University operates courtesy buses that make a loop of the campus every 30 minutes.

EMILY LOWE GALLERY:
We suggest parking by Hofstra USA on the North Campus and taking the shuttle bus, called the Road Runner, to the Weed Hall stop. You then may walk a short distance east to Emily Lowe Gallery.

DAVID FILDERMAN GALLERY:
You may also park on the north side of campus, and walk over the Unispan (the walkway bridge over Hempstead Turnpike) to the south side of campus. The David Filderman Gallery is located in the Joan & Donald E. Axinn Library (ninth floor) immediately to your right as you come over the walkway bridge.

The Emily Lowe Gallery requires a short walk on the south campus to the right of the library, and is located behind Emily Lowe Hall.
