Dr. Jean-Paul Rodrigue appointed to the Freight Advisory Board of The Brookings Institution
Professor Jean-Paul Rodrigue, Department of Global Studies and Geography, has been appointed to the Freight Advisory Board of The Brookings Institution in Washington, DC. The 11 member Advisory Board includes representatives from a wide range of industries: manufacturing, freight shipping, public agencies, private consulting, and academia. It provides advice for the Metropolitan Infrastructure Initiative team, particularly for the metropolitan freight flows project. The project's goal is to explore how freight movements relate to metropolitan economic growth, specifically looking at the roles of local production profiles and critical freight assets. The project aims to expand knowledge about urban freight distribution and help devise policies to improve its performance while reducing its community and environmental impacts.
