Checks must be made payable to Hofstra University. When paying by check, you authorize check payments to be processed as Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions, which immediately debit the account. The process will read the information from a paper check and convert it to an electronic payment or debit transaction. The result is that funds may be withdrawn from your account as soon as we receive your payment, and you will not receive your check back from your financial institution.
Cash or Money Orders are accepted at the Student Financial Services Suite, Room 206, Memorial Hall.
Effective July 1, 2009, students may make their tuition and fee payments by credit card (MasterCard, Discover, and American Express are accepted) through PayPath, easily accessible through your Hofstra Portal at My.Hofstra.edu. A non-refundable convenience fee of 2.75% will be assessed by PayPath on all credit card payments. Hofstra University does not receive any portion of this fee.
Tuition and fees may also be paid by Pinless debit card on the Hofstra Portal at My.Hofstra.edu. There is no convenience fee charged for Pinless debit card transactions. Please check with your bank to ensure your bank participates in the Pinless debit card program and to verify daily dollar value limitations before submitting your information.
Payments made by credit or debit card must be made on-line through the PayPath Service for credit cards or via the Hofstra Portal at My.Hofstra.edu for Pinless debit cards.

Costs covered by the TRP program include tuition, room, mandatory fees and dining plan charges.
Participation is entirely optional. For additional information regarding the plan or to enroll, please contact www.collegerefund.com or call (617) 774-1555.
Please note that enrollment in the plan must take place prior to the start of the semester.
A personal check returned by the bank will be charged back to the student's account and the student's account will be assessed a $25.00 returned check fee. In addition, a hold will be placed on the student's account prohibiting access to many of Hofstra University's services.
When a personal check has been returned, the student must remit payment in the form of cash, certified bank check, money order or credit card to satisfy the outstanding balance or the student will also be subject to account restrictions, included but not limited to, cancellation of current term and future term classes for non-payment, restriction from payment by personal check, etc.
Hofstra University reserves the right to rescind the option to pay by personal check.
