Explore Next Door
The Orientation and New Student Programs hosts Explore Next Door (END), a series of events that take place in the fall and spring semester open to undergraduate students. These trips seek to introduce students to the cultural wealth of New York City, and provide them with an opportunity to connect with their fellow students, faculty and administrators outside of the classroom.
END trips in the past have included trips to Mets and Yankees games, Broadway shows and most recently ballet and opera! The trips consist of 10 - 12 students, a student leader and a faculty or administrator and are completely free. Our office pays for the tickets to the event, transportation and light refreshments.
The fall END trips are open only to new registered first-year and new transfer undergraduate students. During the spring semester trips are open to All registered undergraduate students. Please stop by 240 Mack Student Center to sign up. Sign up dates for each event will be posted. Students are required to pay a $10 deposit to hold their spot. The money is refunded when you attend the event.

Cancellation / Eligibility Policies
- Students must cancel by 9 am three business days before their scheduled event by contacting the Orientation and New Students office at 516-463-6320.
- Any student who fails to cancel within the cancellation period will have to forfeit their deposit.
- The fall END trips are open only to new registered first-year and new transfer undergraduate students. During the spring semester trips are open to All registered undergraduate students. One trip per student, per semester.
Meeting Locations and Times
Please see the schedule to obtain the meeting locations and times of Explore Next Door trips. Most trips meet in the atrium of the Mack Student Center before departure.
