Welcome

Welcome to the Hofstra University Department of Physics and Astronomy. The Department of Physics and Astronomy offers undergraduate majors in Physics (both B.A. and B.S. programs), and a minor in Astronomy. Physics graduates enter a wide variety of careers both inside and outside of physics, including professions in medicine, finance and the law, as well as teaching and research. The Department features small classes taught by dedicated professors, and abundant opportunities for advanced students to participate in research and independent study with faculty members.

There are many opportunities for student support, including the Clearman, Kendrick and Moore Endowed Scholarships. Summer research internships are frequently available for well-qualified advanced students.
