Training and Development

Employee Training and Development Certificate Programs are available to staff and administrators. These programs offer participants the opportunity to attend seminars designed to develop and enhance professional skills. Seminars are conducted on campus, during the workday.

A certificate is awarded to those who complete a series of ten seminars. Administrators are required to take two mandatory EEO compliance seminars; staff employees are required to attend one mandatory EEO compliance seminar. The balance of the seminars can be selected based on area of interest and professional development needs. Examples of topics are:

  • The Art of Influence: Getting to Yes

    Learn how to make the most out of your retirement. Sign up for RetireWise, a series of four seminars that cover a wide range of topics in a lot of detail.

  • Defensive Driving
    This is a New York state, DMV-approved point and insurance reduction program. You must attend both sessions to receive driver safety certification.

  • Weight Watchers
    With two different approaches to healthy weight loss, you can chose the plan that fits your needs and preferences. Learn how to make wise food choices and maintain your weight loss.

  • Fitness Walks
    Discover the beauty that surrounds us by exploring our campus during your lunch. The walks alternate between North and South campus, beginning September 18, 12:10 pm (South Campus)

  • Yoga and You
    Learn the fundamentals of yoga while practicing proper breathing and stretching techniques.
  • begins October 5, 5:15-6:30 pm
  • Trainer: Linda Cucurullo, Certified Yoga Instructor
  • Shape, Firm, and Tone
    These 45-minute exercise sessions will provide a total body workout. Bring your own set of dumbells and get ready to exercise!
